Abstract (EN)

Lamiaceae or Labiatae is composed of very important medicinal plants. For this study 11 species were collected from this family, which included (Lamium purpureum, Teucrium multicaule, Stachys amanica, Stachys megalodonta, Lamium truncatum, Marrubium globosum, Satureja thymbra, Salvia fruticose, Ajuga chamaepitys, Phlomis lycia and Origanum onites) used to test antimicrobial activity against 15 microorganisms (Bacillus subtilis DSMZ 1971, Candida albicans DSMZ 1386, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC 13048, Enterococcus faecium, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa DSMZ 50071, Pseudomonas fluorescens P1, Salmonella enteritidis ATCC 13075, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella kentucky, Salmonella typhimurium SL1344, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Staphylococcus epidermidis DSMZ 20044) by using disk diffusion method, and comparing the activity of these plants against standard antibiotics. S. thymbra was the most effective plat, while L. truncatum was the lowest. The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of the plant extracts against 15 microorganisms were having different effect range between 100 mg/mL - 0,390 mg/mL. The last analysis was minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) and minimal fungicidal concentration (MFC) the results for all microorganisms that effected at MIC test had similar effects for both tests.
