Investigation on the development process of roman letters

Typography which is a writing and writing art, is one of the most importantv elements of the communication branch in human history. Typography makes communication easier, combines different cultures, and the letters creating typography is one of the greatest inventions in history. The history of letters which are the greatest element of typography, having many usage areas, extends over BC. With the invention of the Latin alphabet, many innovations and inventions have been carried out in the field of graphicn design and typography. When designing a font , primarily, some rules were followed. A font has been designed according to the rules of old style arrangement, the first one of these rules, in other words, the rules of triangle, circle and square mathematical, and then to the the rules of optical equilibrium of equal-width arrangement, in other words, the rules of rectangular, ellipse and trapezium. Following the design of Gutenberg's Textura font , many fonts were designed, and many fonts including serif fonts and sans serif fonts were designed untilntoday. However, some classifications have been created between fonts. The aim of the thesis is to make investigations on the historical development, anatomical structure and classifications of roman letters by examining thenanatomical structures of some certain fonts.
