Abstract (EN)

In this study, improvement of economically important micro algal biomass under laboratory conditions at lower cost was aimed. For this purpose Se and vitamin E were added separately in Spirulina cultures which were illuminated by different led lights. Variations in concentrations of Se and vitamin E were observed with growth parameters at 2 days intervals. The reserch was performed in two steps. First step was involved with growth of Spirulina in cultures to which 1, 2 and 3 ml of vitamin E were added. Cultures were illuminated with red, blue, and white led lights and vitamin E synthesis was observed at two days intervals for nine days. Similar experiment was performed for the growth of Spirulina in cultures to which 15, 30 and 45 mg/L Na2SeO3 were added. Cultures were similarly kept under red, blue and white lamps and accumulation of Se in algal cells was determined at two days intervals for 13 days. Growth parameters such as during the experiments wet weight (g/L), dry weight (g/L), optic density, chl-a amounts (µg/ml), Se accumulations (ug/L) of the wet weight were also determined.
