Microbiological characteristics of Ubari (Awbari) lake in Libya Fizan

One of the key problems in monitoring global water quality is to reduce the gap between water quality data in developed and developing countries. Despite its efforts, Libya is a country with various problems due to its underdeveloped water and lake infrastructure. Especially the fact that water resources and lakes are in remote areas encourages and even makes it necessary to increase the number of water supply projects. However, planning for diseases caused by microbiological properties of water, especially diarrhea, is almost non-existent. There are not many studies on microbial water quality in Libya, but they are limited to a few lakes that are far from social life. Almost all of these few studies have been done in the cities in the east of Libya, and there is no such study in the cities in the west of Libya. The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the microbial water quality of Ubari (Awbari) Lake located in Wadi Irawan, Wadi al-Ajal and Awbari regions in Fizan city region of Libya. The results of this study provide a systematic microbiological data to understand and improve the available lake water with behavioral and economic materials at the management level. It is believed that the study will reveal new data and shed light on the improvement of the drinking and drinking water quality of Libya. Water samples from the sampling points determined in the study were taken with sterile sample bottles and brought to the laboratory for microbiological analysis. According to the results obtained as a result of standard microbiological analyzes in the laboratory; (1) conducting studies to increase the quality of the water at the source, (2) clear technical specifications in the projects made and / or to be carried out regarding water and water distribution, and (3) monthly monitoring of the quality indicators for the water connections and tap water of the projects programs are recommended to be followed and prepared.
