Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of mindful eating on hedonic hunger has been investigated through determining the level of hedonic hunger and its causes, and then mindful eating is associated with the nutritional status in an adolescent group. It was revealed that women were more likely to affected by delicious foods and getting higher points in hedonic hunger measurement than men. Also It has been found that women got higher scores than men in all subscales except for emotional eating subscale and total score of MEQ. Additionally, the desire for some foods was increased with growing hedonic hunger for both men and women. On the other hand, the desire for some foods was decreased with increasing mindful eating for both men and women. The results of this study documented that increased mindful eating might play a regulatory role in hedonic processes and excessive food crave. However, there is a need for further shreds of evidence to substantiate this claim.
