Abstract (EN)
The objective of this study is to examine high school students' persistent anxiety states towards physical education and sports classes. A total of 277 students took part in the research. The "Physical Education Persistent Anxiety Scale" was used as the data collection instrument in the study. The research results demonstrated that as regards the categorical variable of gender, there were important differences in participants' average scores for Physical Education Persistent Anxiety, Somatic Anxiety, and Worries. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in Cognitive Processes average scores (p > .05). Regarding the categorical variable of occupation status, significant differences were found in participants' average scores for Physical Education Persistent Anxiety, Cognitive Processes, and Worries, while no notable difference was observed in average scores for Somatic Anxiety (p > .05). Concerning the categorical variable of family income status, there was a significant difference in participants' average scores for Physical Education Persistent Anxiety, whereas the differences in average scores for Worries (p > .05) Cognitive Processes (p > .05) and Somatic Anxiety (p > .05) were not important. Regarding the categorical variable of grade level, there were no significant differences in participants' average scores for Physical Education Persistent Anxiety (p > .05) Worries (p > .05) Cognitive Processes (p > .05) Somatic Anxiety (p > .05) and overall scores (p > .05).
