Recreational activities of high school students trends and recreational activities factors obstacle to participation (sample of Malatya city)

Aim: To determine the Tendency of High School Students to Recreational Activities and the Factors that Prevent Their Participation in Recreational Activities. Materyal and Methods: In the research, a descriptive and screening research model among quantitative research methods will be applied. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 1762 students were randomly selected among the students attending secondary education institutions in Malatya Province. In the research, "Leisure Barriers Scale" was used as a data collection tool. Research findings were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 package program. Result: According to the total scores of the students 'demographic characteristics and recreational participation barriers, A significant relationship has been determined between the variables of weekly usage time of the fields and the adequacy of the recreational areas in the provinces of the studentsthe students' age, school type, mother's education status, monthly income of the family, the place where they spend their life mostly, how often they have difficulty in leisure time, the adequacy of the recreational areas of the school.(p <0.05) and There was no significant relationship between the variables of gender, class, class achievement, father's educational status, weekly leisure time and weekly use of recreational areas in their provinces (p> 0.05). Condusion: As a result of the research, it was concluded that the participation of students in recreational activities differs according to their demographic characteristics.
