An Example of transportation in logistics management: Değirmenözü-Bandırma line

Logistics and logistics management are important concepts that have a role in the development of human civilization and benefit from this development. One of the most important points where this governance and planning becomes a reality in field practice is transportation. Railway transportation has an important and remarkable journey from the essence of the industrial revolution to today's economic necessity. It can be concluded that railway transportation is an important skill that contains great potentials for Türkiye due to its unique Dynamics within the framework of geography, geopolitical position, economic and human mobility, world trade routes and politics. At this point, it can be said that the efficiency that can be achieved in railway transportation will contribute to the entire logistics capability and logistics management in a series. It is concluded that the root cause of the delay problem experienced by Türkiye railway transportation is single line traffic management. In order to measure whether the construction of an additional line is a reasonable approach as an alternative to this situation, Cost-Benefit Analysis applications have been utilized. Değirmenözü- Bandırma line was preferred as the study area. For the study to be realistic, permission was obtained grom TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. and the data was shared with the author by the institution.
