Examining the relationship between subtance useand perceived social support wi̇th emotional selfefficacy

Substance abuse is a rapidly spreading social problem and this problem continues to increase. Emotional self-sufficiency, ability of self-sufficiency, self-love and support from their environment are of great importance for people with substance use and addiction. In this context, this study aimed to examine the relationship between substance use and perceived social support to emotional self-efficacy. Within the scope of examining this relationship, people who did not use substances were also included in the study. The sample group consisted of 104 people who used substances and 110 people who did not use substances. The data of the study was obtained by collecting surveys. Data collection was carried out face-to-face and the surveys consisted of three parts. A demographic information form consisting of a total of 53 questions, a multidimensional perceived social support scale and an emotional self-sufficiency scale were applied to participants who used substances. A demographic information form consisting of a total of 49 questions, a multidimensional perceived social support scale and an emotional self-sufficiency scale were applied to participants who did not use substances. The personal characteristics in the demographic forms applied in the study were examined with moderator effect analysis. Within the scope of the results obtained, it was found that the effect of perceived social support on emotional self-efficacy was quite strong in individuals with substance use, while the effect of perceived social support on emotional self-efficacy was again positive but weaker in individuals without substance use.
