Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to view the changing nature-body-space experience after digitization and the materiality and related concepts brought to the agenda by this change from the Contemporary Turkish Architecture after the 2000s. Its aim is to conduct a survey on the not yet established use of the concept of materiality in the Turkish literature, and to use the concept of materiality as a tool to analyze the materiality connections of the structures determined in the context in question, with the theoretical route followed within the framework of the literature, and to reveal the factors that create these connections. In this framework, Örencik Country Houses, Zonguldak Caves Visitor Center, Palanga Calf Shelter and Active Structures Acoustic Formation projects constitute the structural content of the thesis with both design, application and narrative dimensions. Concepts such as the understanding of nature, picturesque, photographic image and virtual space that emerged after digitization are concepts related to the materiality that comes to the fore in these structures. Architectural discourse has been the method tool to examine the materiality connections of the structures in question. The study will consist of a literature review that reveals the problematics that determine the subject of the thesis, and an introductory section, which can be described as a dictionary search for the dual use of the concept of materiality in the Turkish literature, followed by three sections, one of which is comparison, in which structure analyzes are made in the focus of materiality, and a conclusion section in which the materiality connections are displayed together as a result of the analyses.
