Abstract (EN)
Production of mines has lots of risks. The analysis of these risks and taking precautions has vital importance. Otherwise economical and labor loss will occur as a result of accidents involving death or personal injury. In this thesis, the remote sensing methods were carried out for monitoring the surface movements instead of geotechnical methods which are used frequently at open pit mines. In the study three different surface movements were examined at three different open pit mines, and characteristic feature of movements were revealed. First study consists monitoring of movement at open pit deposit area at Kütahya Tunçbilek lignite basin of Garp Lignite Co. by means of optical satellite imaginary and terrestrial laser scanner technology. In the second study the movements known as Kücüktepe landslide and Güney landslide were monitored with terrestrial laser scanner technology and the direction and the magnitude of movement were determined with the help of scanner data. In the last study the open pit slopes which were effected from underground production at Ege Lignite Co. Soma Open pit Kısrakdere Region were examined with terrestrial laser scanner technology and the deformation that occurred at slope was determined.
