Abstract (EN)
This study aims a thematic review of Mahmut Yesari's selected works from his theaters. In order to identify and classify much better the themes that the author took into consideration while creating his works, only accessible copyrights of the author were examined. Mahmut Yesari made a distinguished name for himself in his era with his works written in various genres. In spite of the fact that the total number of his available works exceeded 100, he did not see as much value as he deserved after his death. However, the artistic value of Yesari has begun to be noticed in the light of the studies carried out in recent years. Observation is the most important thing for Mahmut Yesari who takes the inspiration of his realist style from everyday life. Therefore, the people in daily life and possible tragicomic events in his theaters were masterly and meticulously narrated with certain themes. The aim of our study is to identify and classify these themes with a scientific method on the basis of the author's theatre view. In the light of the aims, the author's selected copyrighted works have been examined and classified according to methods of literary theories. As a result of the examinations, certain data were obtained that can contribute to future studies regarding the understanding of theater by Mahmut Yesari, the themes in his works and, their relationship with daily life.
