Abstract (EN)

In this study, Activated carbon (Dew11Zn5), raw clay and zeolite is used as anadsorbent material. Dew11Zn5 activated carbon has been prepared from waste apricotby chemical activation with ZnCl2. Hekimhan-Malatya raw clay and zeolite samples areused in this work as an other adsorbent materials. Pore properties of activated carbon(Dew11Zn5) raw clay and zeolite, used in the experiments, such as BET surface area, pore volume, avarage pore diameter were characterized by t-plot method based on N2adsorption isotherm. The BET surface area of Dew11Zn5, clay and zeolite wasdetermined 1060, 7.61 and 1.84 m2/g, respectively. The various twenty three dyes used in Textile Plants at Malatya were selected asan adsorbent. The experiments were carried out at room temperature 25oC at 1, 3, 12and 24 hours. The kinetic of adsorption of DB2RN dye on zeolite was investigated by usingpseudo second-order kinetic model. Kinetic results show that the adsorption DB2RNdye from aqueous solution onto zeolite proceeds according to pseudo second-ordermodel. In Addition, The adsorption type of the DB2RN dye on the zeolite was definedas physical adsorption for 500 mg/L dye concentration and as chemical adsorption for1000 mg/L dye concentration. To evoluate the adsorption mechanism clearly, the introparticle diffusion modelis used in the experiments. The introparticle diffusion model results show that theintroparticle diffusion is not the only rate controlling step but also boundary layerdiffusion may control the rate of adsorption.KEY WORDS: Activated Carbon, Zeolite, Clay, Adsorption, Kinetic, Dyesii
