Abstract (EN)
Environmental pollution has been one of the significant problems that the world is facing.Rapidly developing industrialization cause negative effect on environment, human andnature. Developing environmental performance of organizations would decrease thesenegative effects. ISO 14000 Environmental Management System undertake important rolefor controlling this environmental impacts of industies.For a case study an iron and steel company located in zmir had observated for nine weeks.In this time interval an initial review according to ISO 14001 was completed.According to the outputs of the observation period ISO14001 strategy of the company isdiscussed and possible waste management approaches are offered in the content of thestudy.Furthermore, an experimental study conducted for reuse of slag, which is the major wasteof the factory, and the results are presented. In experimental study, slag used as an additivein mortar in different ratios and the increase in pressure strength of the material hasdetermined.
