Manisa Celal Bayar University ERMS integration and its impact on business processes

The aim of this thesis is to explain the transition process to Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) Electronic Record Management System (ERMS) and compare the current situation with the previous situation and investigate the effects of this change on business process. The previous situation refes to the documents prepared and presented to the physical environment. The present situation refers to The present situation refers to the documents prepared and presented to the ERMS and the situation that the job follow-up is made from within ERMS. In this thesis, "Transition Process" is defined as the preparation process before using electronic record management system. During the transition process the studies, works and arrangements carried out in the University are examined. Difficulties encountered during this process are identified and solutions are produced against these difficulties. The transition process to electronic records management system starts on August 2015 and ends on January 4th 2016. In the transition period of about 5 months, the hierarchical organizational structure of the institution is rearranged, user definitions and authorization procedures are made, user training is completed and electronic signature studies are carried out. A survey is prepared to measure the changes in the business processes of the University from the eye of the users through the transition to the ERMS. The survey has 17 propositions and the answers are arranged through Likert type scale between 1 and 5. 1 refers to "Strongly Disagree" while 5 refers to "Strongly Agree". 2 types of the survey including 2 different proposition types are applied 23 administrative manager and 58 administrative staff.
