Abstract (EN)
Aim: In our study; it is aimed to investigate whether pre-eclampsia is predictable or not based on some hematological parameters at primary careunits step where routine follow-ups are made during the pregnancy. Materials and Methods: 56 pregnant women with pre-eclampsia and 116 healthy pregnant women, delivered gynecology and obstetrics department of the medicine faculty of Manisa Celal Bayar University between February 1st 2012 and October 1st 2017, were included in the study. Two separate hemograms were obtained retrospectively from the preeclampsia group at the time of diagnosis (mean 30,78 gestational weeks) and 2 to 6 weeks before the diagnosis (mean 34,42 gestational weeks). Additionally two separate hemograms were obtained retrospectively from the control group at the time of birth (mean 39.43 gestational weeks) and 2-6 weeks before birth (mean 35.46 gestational weeks). Hemogram results were named as first hemogram, which was earlier than gestational week, and second hemogram, which was late. Hemoglobin, platelet count, MPV, neutrophil count, lymphocyte count, NLR and PLR values were reached in each patient. Three separate results were obtained as the comparison of the first and the second hemogram results of preeclampsia group, the comparison of the first hemogram results of control group with preeclampsia and the comparison of the second hemogram results of control group with preeclampsia. Results: It was determined that MPV levels were higher; platelet count, NLR and PLR levels were lower in second hemogram results compared with the first hemogram results of pre-eclampsia group. It was reached that the hemoglobin level in the first hemogram results of the pre-eclampsia group was significantly higher than the healthy pregnancy group. It was determined that MPV level in pre-eclampsia group was significantly higher than control group when compared with the results of the second hemogram results. According to the ROC analysis result, it was revealed that the sensitivity and specificity of MPV for predicting preeclampsia were 75.9% and 33.3%, respectively, when the cut-off value of MPV was accepted as 8.95 (fL). Conclusion: When we compared the results of our study with the literature, it was evaluated that MPV, NLR and PLR data could be used for prediction of preeclampsia patients. It has been required for long duration of studies which need a large number of patients in order to use the tendency in increase of MPV and the decrease of NLR and PLR for prediction of pre-eclampsia.
