Abstract (EN)

Due to its geographical location, Mardin, which has been an important settlement both politically and culturally in the past as it is today, was conquered by Necmeddin İlgazi, the son of Artuk, in 1106. And a state called Mardin Artukids, who would live until 1409, was established here. Although many researches and studies have been carried out on Artukids architecture, there is not yet a comprehensive study examining the crown gates of the Artukids buildings in Mardin. There are similarities in terms of form and decoration scheme between the crown gates of Artukids and the crown gates of Turkey Seljuk but as a natural result of the different geographical locations of the Artukids and Seljuks, the relationships they maintained with different surrounding cultures were reflected in the crown gates with some differences. Within the scope of this thesis, which deals with the crown gates of mosques and madrasahs built by Artukids in Mardin, the crown gates were examined in terms of their material-technical features, architectural institutions, architectural elements and decorations by referring to the architectural features of the buildings they belong to, and were documented and evaluated in the presence of drawings and photographs.
