Abstract (EN)
In today's highly competitive landscape and with the increasing awareness levels of consumers, businesses are placing greater importance on branding. The proliferation of products and services presents a threat to both businesses and consumers. Consequently, the brand has become a vital element for both parties. A brand represents the sum of perceptions and emotions associated with a product or service, serving as a key differentiator among businesses. Moreover, branding plays a critical role in cultivating customer loyalty. While existing literature in the airline industry primarily focuses on customer satisfaction, service quality, and customer loyalty, there is a notable dearth of studies addressing brand resonance in the context of airline services. In light of this, the objective of this study is to examine the moderating effect of brand self on the impact of brand resonance's sub-dimensions on passengers' purchase intention when traveling with an airline. To achieve this objective, data were collected through an online survey conducted with 541 airline passengers, utilizing convenience sampling as the sampling method. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and hypotheses were tested accordingly. The findings indicate that the dimensions of brand resonance, including resonance, feeling, performance, awareness, judgment, and image, significantly influence purchase intention. However, it was found that brand self, as the moderator variable, does not have a significant impact on purchase intention. Moreover, the interactive effects of resonance, awareness, judgment, image, and brand self do not significantly influence purchase intention. On the other hand, the affective dimension and the interactive effect of brand self-have a significant impact on purchase intention. Consequently, brand self exhibits a moderating effect on the relationship between the performance dimension of brand resonance and purchase intention. Based on these results, businesses should strive to establish a strong connection between customers and their brand, ensuring alignment and harmony. To this end, ongoing communication with customers should be prioritized, even after the purchase of a service, and efforts should be made to foster connections between customers and other individuals associated with the brand through brand communities.
