The effects of interactive whiteboard usage at mathematics education on academic success and self sufficiency levels of students

The purpose of this study was to determine the usage of interactive whiteboard on mathematic education at secondary school classes on academic success and self suffiency levels of students. The study group of the research consisted of 40 students attending the 5th grade at a public school selected from the central district of a province located in the north of Turkey. As a resarch method in this study, pre test-final test control groups has been used in an experimental study.the lessons had processed at the experiment group, with 19 students as used interactive whiteboard (the computer- projection- board connection), at the control group with 21 students as used only the computer- projection-the classic board connection. A pre-test was applied with the achievement test whose validity and reliability was determined, and a post-test was applied at the end of the peirod foreseen in the annual plan. In the study qualitative and quantitative data are collectedThese data had collected with "The Success Test of Geometric Objects" , "Geometric Objects The Child Learning For Self-Sufficiency Scale" , "Student Views On The Import Form" ve "The Teacher's Views On The Form". Quantitative data using SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) statistical package program 17.0; qualitative data, the researchers gathered under certain forms prepared by reading and themes are explored.
