Museums on the basis of space design principles: Investigation of Pera Museum and İstanbul Cinema Museum

In order to handle and evaluate the principles of space design more accurately, there are design principles that form the main lines of design within the framework of all applied areas of the design field. "Space Design Principles" used in interior architectural spaces are also known as the leading elements when designing spaces. While the spaces are being designed, space design principles are applied along with the concept design thoughts that occur in line with the quantity measurement studies, the interests and wishes of the customer, the problems that need to be solved and the needs of the space. When it is accepted as a fact that each space has different requirements and different design elements, the situation of being a public or private space, which is another issue that affects the design process, arises. What needs to be differentiated here is the situation in which the needs and expectations of private and public spaces are different. While the museum institutions serving under the concept of public space are designed, exhibition elements are designed by deciding on the type of exhibition and exhibition technique after examining the museum typology. While the exhibition elements are being constructed, the idea arises that if it is a historical building, it should be designed accordingly, and if it is to be built as a museum building, it should be designed accordingly. The elements that should be used while designing a space in both articles, which are examined under the titles of "Space Design Principles" and "Museums and the Concept of Space", which include the first two articles of the thesis, were examined by using quantitative research methods. Pera Museum and Istanbul Cinema Museum, two museums selected using the descriptive model method from quantitative research methods, were examined in situ. In addition to the items mentioned in both items, the areas examined on the basis of the original study were analyzed and evaluated with the matrix analysis method within the framework of the causal comparison model, and all the evaluations were concluded by making comments.
