Abstract (EN)
Effect of Carbonized Tea Plant Wastes to Production of Ferromanganese by Carbothermal Method from Ferrous Manganese Oxide Ores Subjected to Mechanical Activation In this study, obtained from Karaman region manganese ore, Elazığ-Keban region magnetite ore and carbonization product is obtained from located in the Karadeniz ÇAYKUR plants' tea wastes were examined by mixing reducibility. As a result of the carbonization process of tea plant wastes, the most suitable fixed carbon 70.63 % and sulfur content 0.32 % were obtained at 400 C for 2 h treated in the samples. 8.67 % ash and 20.38 % volatile were determined in the Proximate Analysis of the carbonization product. Manganese ore, magnetite ore mixed with used as a carbon source in stoichiometric proportions carbonized the tea plants' waste have been subjected to mechanical activation in the range of 10-120 h. The resulting activated sample pelletized using molasses binder. The pellets were subjected to the reduction process 1000-1400 C in the temperature range from 30 to 120 minutes. The samples obtained as a result of the reduction process, the XRD, DTA, TGA, SEM, EDX studies are carried out. XRD analysis performed, the activated and unactivated peaks compared, in all the diffraction peaks decreased due to the increased activation time. Changes occurring in the height of peak is understood to be due to the structure of the mixture amorphization and structural irregularities transferred from the mechanical energy. Increasing time of activation that was the start of a partial formation of alloys. In the experimental studies, samples of 120 h subjected to mechanical activation process, as a result of reduction processes at different temperatures and times, at 1400 ° C temperature for 2 hours on the samples treated with the reduction rate of 62.22% has been found to occur. Mechanical activation process applied carbothermic reduction of ferrous oxide ores of manganese was performed less time and at lower temperatures. The activation process was influenced reducibility feature positively. Also in the carbothermic reduction process, carbonized tea plant's wastes were found to be used in the reduction process.
