Abstract (EN)

In this research a comparasion is made with other mathematical methods of mental arithmetic. In our century, speed is very important. Also we have to use our ability efficiently. When we look at ourselves we don't use our ability too much. Actually we don't use our capacity enough. It is possible to improve our capacity. It is important to use our time well and right and improve ability. The research about learning mathematics in early childhood and pre-school time improve childrens capacity of learning mathematics more than accepted. Last years, there was serious acceration about the teaching mathematics in early childhood and educational programmes. The research of mathematics in early childhood and pre-school are focus on trying different method and programme. A pilot study about new pre-school study programme (OÖEP) in 2002, made if applicable in 2006. There is also a topic about mathematic acquisitions in this new programmes. Firstly, Soroban methot started to be used in Japan, United States and Far East for long years. Nowdays, In Turkey, this system started to put into practice about improving student's mathematical ability, counting easily and increasing brains functions. People's interests increase day by day. In this programme, firstly, students learn the numerical problems with abacus and in the second part, they leave abacus step by step and they solve the problems from their mind. With this method, children between 4-11 ages learn counting skills more effeciently than calculator and computer. And they improve their memory, self confidence, intelligence, attention and focusing. By researching classical mathematical teaching method, this system called Soroban method improve brain working capacity.
