Abstract (EN)

Scolytidae family constitute a great deal of species which harms and causesepidemic illnesses at conifer forest with needles. Members of this family havespread to all over the world. As a matter of fact, harms of the bugs at coniferforest with needles are seen in Mersin which has an important role inproducing trees. Bugs (Scolytidae) takes trees to death by devastating tissuecarrying sap.Information is gathered about species of Scolytidae by examining the local andforeign sources related to the topic in Turkey before startind the field study.Inthe lıght of thıs ınformatıon, pure and mixed forests, sale stores, growing fieldsand collapsed areas are investigated in order to find scolytidae species harmingconifer forest with needles in Mersin Forest Administration .Besides, pheromones traps are located to the trees and this traps, leftovers trees, vertical and horizontal trunks are sometimes controlled and bugs on the treesare picked.IIn the conglusion, 14 Scolytidae speies were determined inthe region thesespecies were listed as below:Hylastes attenuatus Erichson, Hylastes cunicularis Erichson, Blastophaguspiniperda (Linnaeus), Hylurgus ligniperda (Fabricius), Phloeosinus armatusReitter, Phloeosinus aubei (Perris), Crypturgus numidicus Ferrari, Crypturguspusillus (Gyllenhal), Pityogenes bistridentatus (Eichhoff), Pityogenes pennidensReitter, Pityokteines curvidens (Germar), Orthotomicus erosus (Wollaston), Ipssexdentatus (Boerner), Xyloterus lineatus (Olivier).During the study, parasites and predators of this species included to this sub-family are detected at specified forest area. As a natural enemy of this species,13 predators and 1 parasite are found. Dendrosoter sp. (Hymenoptera,Braconidae) is the only parasite species to be detected.
