Abstract (EN)

In this study, by using potassium persulfate (KPS) initiator, methylenbisacrylamide (MBAAm) crosslinking, methacrylamid?s (MAAm) mono (crotonik acid, CrA) and dicarboxylic (maleic acid, MAA) acids hydrogels were prepared with radical copolymerization and the prepared hydrogels? swelling behaviors were investigated. The effects of ratio of monomer, initiator and crosslinker concentration and polymerization temperature to swelling ratio were investigated. In MAAm/CrA hydrogel, maximum (480%) swelling was observed with the hydrogels prepared with 85/15 MAAm/ CrA (mole/mole), KPS mole ratio % 2, MBAAm mole ratio 1% and at the heat of 55oC. In MAAm/MAA hydrogel, maximum (1100%) swelling was observed with the hydrogels prepared with 75/25 MAAm/MAA (mole/mole), KPS mole ratio 1%, MBAAm mole ratio 1% and at the heat of 55o C. In SEM analysis, it was observed that the surface morphology of the hydrogels, prepared under optimum conditions, changed depending on the monomer ratio, initiator and crosslinker concentration. The effects of pH and temperature of the environment, electrolyte concentration and type of environment to swelling behavior of the optimum hydrogels were investigated. At level of pH =7 maximum swelling was observed in both of the hydrogels. It was observed that swelling behavior of both of the hydrogelschanged according to the temperature, electrolyte concentration and type of the environment. As a result of experimental studies, optimum gel swelling kinetics in distilled water at room temperature MAAm/CrA gel Fick type, MAAm/MAA gel Nonfickian type diffusion was observed.TGA,FTIR and SEM techniques were used while characterizing the structure of the synthesized gels. Keywords: Poly( methacrylamid-co-crotonic acid), Poly(methacrylamid-co-maleic acid), hydorgels, methylenbisacrylamide
