Abstract (EN)

Phosphine metal complexes are recently evaluated in the field of cancer therapy. In this research, the cytotoxic effects of some metal phosphines {[(PdCl2(CH2OH)2PCH2)2NCH3] (K1), [RuCl2(((CH2OH)2PCH2)2NCH3))2] (K2), [AuCl2 ((CH2OH)2PCH2)2NCH3] (K3), [PtCl2(Ph2PCH2)2NCH3)(timin)2] (K4), [PtCl2(Ph2PCH2)2NCH3)(urasil)2] (K5), [PtCl2(Ph2PCH2)2NCH3)(teofilin)2] (K6)} on K562 and A549 cells were investigated with MTT test. The effects of these complexes to the thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and Catalase (Cat) enzymes were also evaluated. The inhibition of these enzymes with organometalic compounds in the cell lines are most recently analyzed in the first step of cancer drug discovery. Results of this research showed that some of the complexes had effective cytotoxicity on A549 and K562 cell lines, some of these had cytotoxic effects with high concentration and most of these complexes inhibited TrxR, GPx and Cat enzymes.
