Abstract (EN)

The new non-metal cation (NMC's) pentaborate structures of cationic valine, tryptophan, lysine, methionineandisoleucine, threonine, phenylalanine and leucine were synthesized and characterized usingelemental analysis, 11B-NMR, melting point analysis, TGA/ DTA/ DTG, BET analysis, powder X-ray, GC-MS and FT-IRmethods.And then, hydrogen storage properties of characterized structures are measured by using High Pressure Volumetric Analyzer (HPVA).The thermal decompositionof valine, tryptophan, lysine, methionine, isoleucine, threonine, phenylalanine and leucine NMC'spentaborateshoweddifferentstabilitiesamong each other. Afterthedehydration of thestructures, the organicgroups are removed from the pentaborate structures. And then the oxide form of boron atom, B2O3having glassy structure is obtained in the reaction as last decomposition product. Molecular formulas of the obtained complex are as follows: (I)[C5H11NO2][B5O6(OH)4]H2O (V) [C6H13NO2][B5O6(OH)4]H2O Valine pentaborate Isoleucine pentaborate (II)[C11H12N2O2][B5O6(OH)4]1/2H2O (VI)[C4H9NO3][B5O6(OH)4]H2O Tryptophan pentaborate Threonine pentaborate (III)[C6H14N2O2][B5O6(OH)4]H2O (VII) [C9H11NO2][B5O6(OH)4]1/2H2O Lysine pentaborate Phenylalanine pentaborate (IV)[C5H11NO2S][B5O6(OH)4]1/2H2O (VIII)[C6H13NO2][B5O6(OH)4]1/2H2O Methionine pentaborate Leucine pentaborate Keywords: Boron, Non-metal cation borate structure, Pentaborate, Thermal investigation, 11B-NMR, powder-XRD,Hydrogen Storage.
