Abstract (EN)

The fades characteristics and depositional environments of the Güvercinlik formation are examined around Çatalkaya Village (Mordoğan). The Güvercinlik limestone (Norian-Rhatian) consists of dolomitic limestones, stromatolitic dolomitic limestones, megalodon-bearing limestones, mudstone intercalations and sandstone lenses. Three stratigraphic sections were measured in the Tahtaiskele, Yellicebelen Mountain and Zendemir HtU and collected 93 samples. Results of petrographic studies of these samples identify eleven microfacieses; stromatolite / algae- boundstone / mudstone, mudstone-bioclastic mudstone, Intraclastic-algae / bioclastic wackestone, wackestone-packstone, bioclastic wackestone-floatstone, intraclastic packstone, bioclastic / miliolid packstone, pelletoidal / packstone-grainstone, bioclastic packstone-floatstone, packstone-boundstone / algae framestone, and bioclastic grainstone-rudstone-floatstone. These microfaeies associations indicate; intertidal channel, intertidal, subtidal, restricted shallow and biostrome depositional environments. Different diagenetic effects were developed. Dolomitization is the most observed diagenetic effect. Another diagenetic events are dedolomhization, geopetal structure, stylolization, micrite envelope, fracture and void filling spar, bioturbation structures and recrystallization.
