11 DESIGN OF A TWO DIMENSIONAL MICROPROCESSOR BASED PARABOLIC ANTENNA CONTROLLER (M.Sc. Thesis) Haluk GÖZDE GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY October 2003 ABSTRACT At the present time, as an outcome of the developing technologies, the needs are highly increased for positioning and orientation of the parabolic antennas which arc widely used in home applications, satellite stations and different military applications. In order to realize this kind of applications that need sensitivity and accuracy, microprocessor based closed loop control systems are used. In this work, a microprocessor based controller system was designed in order to get angular position of parabolic antenna which has 90 cm. diameter. Also the parameters that influence the accuracy of the controller has been examined.
