Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis study is to detect cardiac ischemia in dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) using cardiogoniometry. A total of 46 dogs were included in the study and divided into four groups: healthy, B1, B2 and congestive heart failure (CHF). Hematological and biochemical analyses, radiographic examination of the heart, echocardiographic, electrocardiographi and cardiogoniometric examinations were performed on all dogs. The obtained data showed that the monocyte ratio was increased in the B1 and CHF groups compared to the healthy (p = 0,048). Additionally, the BUN/Creatinine ratio in the CHF group was higher than in the B2 group (p = 0,028) and serum ALP levels tended to be higher in the CHF group compared to healthy dogs (p = 0,096). Serum TT4 levels were found to be higher in the healthy and B1 groups compared to the B2 group (p = 0,046). VKS values were significantly higher in the CHF group compared to the other groups and the ability of the test to distinguish MMVD from healthy dogs was determined to be "excellent" (p = 0,001). Echocardiographic data indicated that MV E Velocity and LVIDDn values were increased in the CHF group compared to the other groups, while the MV E/A ratio showed a tendency to increase (p = 0,002, p = 0,012, p = 0,001 and p = 0,079, respectively). Additionally, the ability of the LA/Ao ratio and LVIDDn values to distinguish MMVD from healthy dogs was determined to be "moderate." In the CHF group, the T amplitude and duration in lead II, as well as the PR interval, were increased compared to the healthy and B1 groups (p = 0,014, p = 0,031, p = 0,003, respectively). Cardiogoniometric examinations revealed that the SCOR in the CHF group was higher compared to healthy dogs and the R- value was higher compared to all groups (p = 0,040 and p = 0,015, respectively). In the B2 group, the ST value was higher compared to the other groups (p = 0,016). Furthermore, the SCOR's ability to distinguish MMVD from healthy dogs was found to be "moderate." In conclusion, cardiogoniometric data, which were examined for the first time in dogs with MMVD, showed that by evaluating the heart's electrical activity in three dimensions, ischemia and other cardiac abnormalities can be detected.
