A proposal method for using narrative in architecture design studios

Architecture design studios are considered as a place of develop a design through the information and production. Being in this process always challenges most of architecture freshmen and sophomore students. To eliminate this difficulty, architecture design studios should be allow the student to explore. Through this process the studio tutors should try to create a new tools for support the student. The aim of this study is provide a new thinking tools for students to improve themself through the design process in architecture design studios. For this purpose, a new design method will be created for architecture design studios. While developing this method, the dynamic structure of narrative will be used as a tool and new thinking methodology. It has been developed over the concept of "narrative" derived from Ricouer's theory in literature. Ricouer defines narrative as "the systematized arrangement of events" through the narrative plot of experience. In this context, the method will developed from narrative which has been shaped on the idea that" the actions are imitated and arranged in the plot while the plot is being formed and composed". For Ricouer; narrative considered as an arranging composition. In this composition, space becomes efficient with the order of action, experience, and event. And the representation of the narrative includes conditions, purposes, possibilities, and interactions. The narrative, in this multi-layered form is also accepted as a representation and simulation of space. A new method will put forward for develop a new way of thinking in the Architecture Design Studio through the representation of narrative and this representation also will provide a student to evolve their ideas.
