Investigation of the relationship between architects job satisfaction, comfort in the working environment and productivity

In the thesis, the relationship between the job satisfaction, structural comfort conditions and productivity of architects working in architectural offices is examined. When the literature is examined, although there are many studies dealing with job satisfaction, comfort conditions and productivity levels, no study has been found that examines these content together. It has been found that academic studies dealing with job satisfaction, comfort conditions and productivity levels of employees in architectural offices are quite limited. With the thesis study, it is aimed to eliminate this deficiency determined in the literature. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 203 architects working in Bursa. As a result of the research, some parameters were found to be important. These parameters are that architects should be constantly busy with their work in job satisfaction, have a conscientious responsibility about work, using their own talents at work, allow creativity and be satisfied with the work they do, a good management principles, the management's decision-making ability, the implementation of business-related decisions in the organization and the appreciation of the work. When the comfort conditions in architectural offices are examined; It has been observed that they are satisfied with the indoor air quality, the natural ventilation adequacy, the absence of bad odor in the working environment, the ergonomics of the seat, the sufficient equipment in the office, the artificial lighting in the office and the indoor temperature adequacy. However, they do not feel comfortable auditory in the working environment. In the productivity of architects; wage level, fair wages, conditions provided by the workplace (insurance, retirement, etc.), status of the workplace, appreciation, attitude towards the employees of the workplace, being satisfied with the work done, being able to express opinions in the office, appropriate working hours, leave conditions The parameters such as the equipment used, the sensitivity of the management to the problems were determined as important factors affecting the productivity of the architects. In addition, the correlation analysis concluded that the parameters of architects' job satisfaction and structural comfort conditions are effective on productivity.
