Technology as ideology in the context of digitalization in architecture practice and an investigation on the Denizli scale

The discipline of architecture has assembled many ideas and technologies and applied them to its own practice. One of these spolia and applications is digitalization, which is one of the resources of post-2000s technology. The discipline of architecture and the fields in which the discipline of architecture is related have been examined in the process, starting with pre-digitalization and following digitalization until today. In this direction, it has been observed that digital production technologies, one of the innovations brought by digitalization, replace issues such as craftsmanship, labor and traditionally done by masters and open up issues such as machine production, error-free production, production speed and production efficiency. Conceptually in this study, technology, digitalization and digital production technologies that began to be visible in architectural practice after the 2000s were examined. In this review; technology as an ideology, resilience to digitalization and digital production technologies, resilience and flexibility are discussed in the context of architectural practice and ideology. Traditionally known and used technology is ideologically durable. Ideologically, the workmanship and labor of the master craftsmen who carry out construction practices are also durable. The upper class, which has the financial means of being open to new developments, uses current technology instead of the conventional one by showing a certain flexibility. In line with the flexibility shown by the qualified upper class, ideologically durable technology is stretching and current technology is becoming ordinary over time and replacing the conventional one. This movement continues with new developing technologies. In this direction, a survey study was conducted with the architectural actors at the local scale of Denizli. An ideological survey study was created within the framework of the understanding and use of technology, digitalization and digital production technologies.
