Abstract (EN)
This thesis searches the relationships between architecture and ritual, which confronted us throughout the ages, with varied meanings of them and spaces that they realized, and focuses on qualities of ritual and their formations in different spaces accomodated varied functions depending on the social, economic and cultural changes. While unifing informations from different disciplines, this work aimes to constitute a ritual definition and to interpret relationships between architecture and ritual with constituting definitions. Arguments constructing througout the thesis, are being improved with theatre space that existing with ritual from the beginning till today and illustrated by Ankara State Opera and Ballet House (Büyük Sahne).
