Abstract (EN)

Wireless communication is a key technology that is constantly improving with the work of many scientists from past to present. One of the most important developments that enabled the advancement of wireless communication is the discovery of Cognitive Radio (CR) technology. With CR technology, a solution has been found to the problem of increasing number of users trying to use the limited amount of radio frequency spectrum. When licensed users leave the spectrum empty, CR ensures that unlicensed users benefit from these gaps equally and opportunistically, and while doing this, it uses different spectrum detection methods. CR technology has some cognitive features such as learning and sensing. The most important of these features is spectrum sensing. For spectrum sensing in literature; different spectrum detection methods such as Covariance Based, Cyclo Stationary Feature, Matched Filter, Eigenvalue Based, Energy Based are suggested. Within the scope of this thesis, a new MIMO-based Energy Detection method has been proposed by examining the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) communication technology used to increase the detection performance. While examining the proposed method, it was compared with traditional ED and improved ED methods. As a result, it has been observed that the detection probability of the proposed method is higher and therefore a superior method in terms of spectrum efficiency and performance. It was determined that the results obtained by using computer simulations in the MATLAB of this study overlap with the theoretical results.
