Abstract (EN)

The cost advantages, manufacturing process, working speeds and performance outputs of the electric motors defined as an actuator can be varied according to the usage area and sector. Therefore, it may be necessary to make structural changes in motor design in order to meet these variable expectations within the desired constraints. In this study, firstly the effect of the various structural design parameter changes on the structure of a miniature brushless direct current motor used in many fields of the industry was investigated and the output power, torque, efficiency and current values of this motor were examined. These analyses were carried out in ANSYS Maxwell program' s preliminary design module (RMxprt). The appropriate dimensions, operating temperature, voltage, power, and speed values, which were chosen according to the usage areas in the industry, were preferred for the analysis. According to the knowledge from these analyses, the information such as which structural parameter has more effect on the motor performance than the others was obtained. After this stage, the design and analysis of the performance improved motor were done in ANSYS/Maxwell RMxprt and 2D modules according to the preliminary analysis and the performance outputs of importation equivalents. The finite element method results of some the analysis were compared with the theoretical calculations and found to be consistent. Finally, the transfer function of the motor was obtained. Open and the closed-loop behavior of the system was investigated. Proportional and Proportional+Integral type control algorithm was applied to the motor for the speed control.
