An analysis on the stories of Mitat Enç

This thesis study is carried out to analyse the stories of Mitat Enç and define the author's position in Turkish literature. Uzun Çarşının Uluları, which includes the author's life work and was first published in 1977 is one of the most important works in Turkish literature that derives its focus from a city and its people. The author who composed his story in the light of his childhood and youth memories witnesses an approximate 70-years-history of Gaziantep. In the first part of the study, information on the author's life and works is given. Whereas, in the second part that forms the focal point of the study, every story of the author has been analysed in detail in terms of structural components.
