Abstract (EN)

Matrix metalloproteinases, one of the proteins present in extracellular matrix, are an essential member of extracellular proteinases. The most important tasks of them are destruction of extracellular matrix. Members that each of them is a different gene product and has a relationship between coronary steanosis. Matrix metalloproteinases 2 and 9 are located on different chromosomes. These enzymes have essential situations on the work potential of extracellular matrix, remodeling of tissue, angiogenesis and morphogenesis. Controlled increase on the activity of matrix metalloproteinases have influence over much of the diseases pathogenesis including cardiac disease, atherosclerosis, periodontal disease, metastasis of tumor cells and arthritis. They are also participate on the development of myocardial infraction. Aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between single nucleotit polimorphisms of the matrix metalloproteinases 2 and 9 genes and MI. For that reason 258 patients who have suffered from acute MI and 127 people who have no close relatives that have never experienced heart disease, are used in this research. Polymorphisms were matrikx metalloproteinase 2 gene (1575 G/A) and matrix metalloproteinase 9 gene (1562 C/T) analysed by using PCR-RFLP method. We found a significant associata between MMP2 1575 G/A polimorphism and miyocardial infraction (p<0,0001).
