Abstract (EN)

Our thesis consists of three parts. The first part focused on the forms of relationship between people, culture and tradition. It was stated that humans are social creatures and exist within culture. It was mentioned that culture is carried through tradition and the effect of tradition on the individual. It was focused on the extent to which the norms of a person's lifestyle are taken into account from culture and tradition. Explanations and analyzes were made on the ties of societies experiencing transition processes such as Turkey with traditional values and the conflicts they experienced. In the second part, the problem of humanity and modernity was discussed. It was stated that the modern era is a reality for the entire human family. It was seen that this reality had an extreme impact on the traditional individual with his values and changed his way of life. It was revealed that during the conflict between modern values and traditional values, more traditional values retreated. The third chapter focused on how traditional and modern norms have a paradoxical effect on human character. It was seen that some basic traditional values were abandoned during the conflict, but some were not. It was emphasized that modern and traditional values, which are in conflict with each other, continue or have to survive with a paradoxical effect on the individual.
