Abstract (EN)

The subjects of Molecular Structure, Hybridization and Molecular Polarity are very important in General Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. In this research, this subjects were prepared by using Adobe Flash 8 program in the computer via meaningful learning which is Ausubel?s theory. This material was aimed to annihilate the existent misconceptions and misunderstanding and to increase the success and motivation of student. The experimental group was taught the computer asissted learning (CAL) and the control group was taught traditional learning approach. This research was conducted on 24 undergraduate students who attended the lesson ?Inorganic Chemistry?I? in Buca Faculty of Education of DEU in İzmir. The students were divided a control group (CG) and a experimental group (EG) in this study. This groups were determined according to the results of OSS.Before and after application the Scientific Success Test (SST) and Chemistry Attitude Scale (ChAS) were applied to the both of groups. Before and after application the Computer Attitude Scale (CAS) and after application the material appreciation scale were applied to the experimental group. Results were analysed with the statistical program of SPSS 13. The Wilcoxon Test was applied internal the group analysiss. The Mann Whitney?U Test was applied between the groups analysiss. The important results of the research:1. The results indicated that the experimental group? students? success showed a significant and positive change according to control group? students.2. The experimental group? students? attitudes toward ChAS showed a significant and positive change according to control group? students.3. The experimental group? students? attitudes toward CAS showed a significant and positive change4. Additionally, it was stated by the students that the educational software was very well prepared as a whole.
