Abstract (EN)
Most of the world energy supply is provided by fossil fuels (coal, petroleum, natural gas), which are non-renewable energy sources. It has been proven in many studies that the use of fossil fuels causes serious harm to the environment and human health. In order to prevent these damages, to contribute to the ecological balance and to reduce the dependence on petroleum, studies on the development and use of alternative fuels have been accelerated in recent years. In this study, the use of ethanol, which is one of the alternative fuels, is investigated in internal combustion engines. In this study, using ANSYS Fluent software, 4-stroke, spark-ignition, internal combustion engine two-dimensional combustion chamber model has been analyzed. The speed, mass fraction, static temperature and pressure and evaporation amount parameters of the cylinder were investigated by changing the values of the crank angle. According to the results, two fuels were compared and their similarities and dissimilarities were revealed.
