Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to analyze motorcycle riders' expectations of their clothing and equipment, and to develop unique, aesthetic, and functional products by considering the influence of social ties and cultural norms on motorcycle apparel and equipment during the design process for Chopper/Cruiser riders. A literature review and document review were conducted, and relevant research was thoroughly examined. Furthermore, to ensure a qualitative process for the study, observational analyses and preliminary verbal interviews were conducted with motorcycle riders, particularly members of the Anatolian Soldiers motorcycle club. Observations and interviews with motorcycle riders were conducted to understand the relationship between clothing preferences and group identity and social dynamics, and to determine the correct steps for the study method. A survey was prepared to determine motorcycle riders' expectations of clothing and equipment. The data obtained from the survey results are interpreted and presented in tables. The Design Development Process, a component of Creative and Experimental Research Techniques, was applied during this phase. The aim of this study was to develop designs for Chopper/Cruiser riders based on the findings obtained from the survey and interviews.
