Abstract (EN)

The culture of hadith narration, which began among the companions following the passing of the Prophet Muhammad and was continued by subsequent generations, underwent stages of formation, development, and maturation. In our relevant study, we will examine the narrations used in the commentary attributed to Mujahid ibn Jabr (d.103), a scholar of the successors who lived during the formative period of this discipline. We will determine the types of narrations contained in early period commentaries based on their authenticity and sources. Since early period commentaries were written at a time when the systematic transmission of hadith had not fully established itself, the identification and scrutiny of the narrations used in such works become crucial. Therefore, through this study, the attribution of the narrations in Mujahid's commentary to the Prophet Muhammad will be observed. In our study, by proceeding from parts to the whole, an insight will be provided into other works that can be considered as belonging to the early period, based on the narrations in the text. In determining the hadiths in the commentary, narrative-type sources will primarily be used to identify where the hadiths are found. Additionally, recourse to the sources of narrators will be made due to the inclusion of statements from some successors. In our study, we will first introduce Mujahid's perspective on the science of hadith, followed by an evaluation of the narrations in the work under two main headings. Ultimately, the conclusions will show that the narrations in the commentary titled Tafsiru Mujahid have been identified and their versions in other sources have been evaluated.
