Abstract (EN)
In Turkey, the family transforms simultaneously with all other institutions and interacts with social changes. In recent years, the family and conservatism have been the center of attention in politics, law, and the culture industry. While the family and conservatism feed each other, there are situations in which the capacity of subjectivity emerges in the case of a critical approach to conservatism and the family. This research follows the appearance of conservatism in the family and how it shapes the future of the children of middle-income conservative families belonging to the working class. The research problem concerns the vision of children of middle-income conservative families living in the Hüyük district of Konya. When the literature on this subject is reviewed, there are examples of the transformation of the family. However, what makes this thesis unique is that it focuses on the transformation of the conservative family and looks at the motives of conservative families when it comes to their children. The assumption that families in Turkey tend to raise their children with secular/secular elements while institutions in the world and Turkey are becoming more conservative is also a perspective that makes the research unique. Due to the nature of the research problem, the qualitative research method was preferred since semi-structured interviews were conducted in the field. The collected data were analyzed by subjecting them to critical qualitative analysis. At the end of the research, it was seen that there is not only one form of conservatism; there are various conservatisms, even in the micro field. In addition, it was understood how conservatism is experienced/practiced change between genders and generations. Keywords Conservatism, conservative family, child vision of conservative families
