Abstract (EN)

Subject of the thesis is to translate and examine the 14th volume of the mühimme-i asakir registers series found in the Ottoman Archives into Latin letters. The content of the mühimme-i asakir registers generally covers military organization, appointments, military reforms in the field, and other important military-related issues. When the decrees and issues recorded in the 14th volume of the Mühimme-i Asakir register, which has been kept since 17 Şevval 1221 (28 December 1806), are examined, important information about the Ottoman military organization in the early 19th century can be accessed. This register is an important source for understanding the military order of the Ottoman Empire, the organization of the army, and the military policies of the period. In addition to topics such as the distribution of military units, appointment of commanders, military training, procurement of military supplies, and war strategies, it contains information reflecting the political and social dynamics of the period. Especially the early 19th century was a significant period for the Ottoman Empire. Political and military changes in Europe during this period also affected the Ottoman military organization. The examination of the 14th volume provides a valuable tool for understanding the military strength of the Ottoman Empire during this period, the capabilities of military leaders, and the military strategies of the time. At this point, in order to contribute to the existing literature on military ammunition registers, notebook number 14 belonging to the year 1806-1807, which is in the fund of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey State Archives, Bab-ı Asafî Divan-ı Hümayun Mühimme-İ Asakir Registers was selected and a transcription and analysis study was carried out. The descriptive method was used in the study.
