Abstract (EN)

Validity and Reliability of Munro Perioperative Pressure Injury Scale Objective: It is aimed to adapt the validity and reliability of the Munro Perioperative Pressure Injury Risk Assessment Scale into Turkish and to examine the sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value of the 3S Operating Room Pressure Injury Risk Assessment Scale. Methods: It is methodological research. The research was conducted in the operating room of a University Hospital where orthopedic cases were performed, and in the orthopedic service and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, where the patients were followed up afterward. Sampling included 121 patients. Data were collected using the Sociodemographic and Clinical Characteristics Form, the Munro Perioperative Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment Scale, and the 3S Operating Room Pressure Sore Risk Assessment Scale. Data were analyzed with the Scope Validity Index, Sensitivity, Specificity, Predictive Value, ROC Curve, and Area Under the Curve values. Permission was obtained from the ethics committee, institution, and patient relatives. Results: Mean age of the patients was 52.22±19.65 and the content validity index thereof was 0.92. Preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative cut-off scores obtained from Munro Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment Scale for Perioperative Patients were determined as ≥9.50, ≥13.50, and ≥3.50 respectively. AUC values of the ROC Curve on the Munro scale were found to be 0.735, 0.748, and 0.729 respectively. Preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative sensitivity rates with regard to the Munro scale were 76.2%, 71.4%, and 80.9% respectively, while the specificity values thereof were determined as 76.0%, 76.0%, and 58%. The 3S Operating Room Pressure Wound Risk Assessment Scale is 0.731. Conclusion: While the Munro Perioperative Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment Scale has "acceptable" discriminating power in determining pressure ulcer risk, it has high sensitivity, specificity, and negative predictive value.
