Abstract (EN)

National romanticism is a struggle of nationalities? finding themselves in language,culture,art and literature and transfer this self-conscious to the humanity of the age. National romanticism has showed its substance in Turkish Literature clearly with the beginning of 20th century. These valuations that created the nation and provided integrity,have been used as an important theme especially in novel kinds.Murat SERTOĞLU ,comes to the head of the names who composed his/her works related to national romantic trend, has used self-valuations that belong to Turkish Nation, skillfully. The writer, centralized historical events which are the turning point for Turkish Nation, has tried to expound these events again by a national romantic view in the novel?s theoretical structure. In the writer?s works, geography and locations ,language,history and religious believes are the main support point in terms of national romantic trend.The writer burdens various symbolic meanings to these elements and save these values from banality and sanctifies them.Also through the mediation of novel heros ,he gives personal characteristics of Turkish Nation in historical flow. With his works, Murat Sertoğlu has undertook a guiding principle task that tells the reader who is he/she is by the mirror of past.Key Words: National Romanticism, Murat SERTOĞLU, Geography, History, Language, Religion
