Language and style in the poems of Musa Celil

Musa Celil is one of the soldier-poets who makes very important contributions to the Tatar language and literature. The poems of the poet putting pen to paper at very young ages reflect the social, cultural and literary characteristics of time period that they live. Musa Celil writes his poems with an unsophisticated language in sincere and lyric style. In this study, by examining Musa Celil's poems in terms of language and style, features special to his literary character are tried to be presented. This examination is made by using the methods of language and style analyses used in Turkey. The poems discussed in the current study are chosen from those reflecting Musa Celil?s composition process and stages of attainment of literary maturity. The history of Kazan Tatars are mentioned and information about The Tatar?s social and cultural life, Tatar literature in the nineteenth and twentieth century, Tatar poem in the first half of the twentieth century is given to be helpful for this study.
