Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the physical activity levels and the quality of life of sedentary individuals working in desk-based customer service, and to compare them in terms of various variables. This study, utilizing a correlational survey model, comprised 330 participants who are employed as desk-based customer representatives in a company. International Physical Activity Questionnaire (Short Form) and Quality of Life Scale for Employees were used to collect the data. The collected data were imported into the SPSS 25 software for distribution analysis. For data determined to exhibit a normal distribution, the T-Test was employed for binary group comparisons, while One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used for comparisons involving more than two groups. Pearson Correlation analysis was utilized to examine the relationship between the scales. According to the comparison made between the physical activity questionnaire and demographic variables, no significant difference was found in gender, age, marital status, and work type variables, while significant differences were observed in body mass index and educational status variables. Regarding the comparison between the quality of life scale and demographic variables, significant differences were found in gender, age, and body mass index variables, while no significant differences were detected in marital status, educational status, and work type variables. When examining the relationship between physical activity levels and quality of life, a statistically significant difference was found. As a result, it has been observed that as individuals' physical activity levels increase, the level of occupational satisfaction, a sub-dimension of the quality of life scale, increases, while the levels of exhaustion and empathic fatigue decrease. The relationship between individuals' physical activity levels and quality of life is significant, and it has been observed that an increase in physical activity positively influences quality of life.
