Abstract (EN)

this thesis study, ways of determining the amount of water contained in soil by electromagnetic method have been investigated. For this purpose, studies in the literature related to time-based reflectometry (TDR) and frequency-based reflectometry (FDR) methods have been investigated and models that calculate water amount of soil using these methods have been used. n the second part of the study, the electromagnetic properties of soil were explained and it was determined in the literature which parameters could be used to calculate the amount of water in the soil. In the third part of the study, the dielectric constant of the soil was calculated by using the TDR method and the volumetric water amount of the soil was determined by using the Topp or Malicki models according to the calculated dielectric constant. Topp and Malicki models were compared and evaluated for their numerical consistency. FDR was used in the fourth part of the study and the amount of water in the soil was determined by this method. The obtained data were compared with the data obtained by the TDR method and the consistency of the results of the two methods was determined.
