Abstract (EN)
There is always a need for energy in our world and energy policies have made a very important place in state?s policies. That is why European Union tries to implement a common energy policy. In fact, this thesis will focus on new developments of European Union energy policies. This thesis provides a backdrop for better understanding the basic concepts involved in European Union energy policies when new developments are involved and potentially lead to the identification of new energy policy targets. For this reason, firstly, theoretical framework is noted for analyzing energy policies. Liberal and realist paradigms on energy politics is examined for this purpose. Secondly, the historical background of energy politics within the Europe Union is researched. Thirdly, the European Union energy supply-demand maneuvers and energy security in the European Union are observed. Then the alternative energy resources of the European Union are examined. In addition to this, the European Union-Russian Federation energy relations are analyzed. Finally, possible trends in the European Union energy policy futures are reviewed.
